Chandigarh: The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal Khattar, expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of Lance Naik Vikram Jit Singh (26) of village Tepla, Ambala district. He attained martyrdom while fighting terrorists in Gurez sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, the 6th of August.

He is survived by his father Mr Baljinder Singh, mother Mrs Kamlesh Kaur, wife Harpreet Kaur, and younger brother Monu Singh.

Chief Minister hailed Vikram Jit Singh as a brave soldier who showed indomitable courage while fighting the terrorist and laid down his life to safeguard our motherland, in a condolence message issued here today.

The message stated, 'The sacrifice made by Vikram Jit Singh would not go in vain and he would always be remembered for his courage and bravery'. Mr Manohar Lal conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed to the Almighty that his soul might rest in peace.

His mortal remains would be brought to his native village Tepla, on Wednesday. Lance Naik Vikram Jit Singh who joined the Army five years ago, was currently serving in 36 Rastriya Rifles. His younger brother Monu is serving the Army as Sepoy and is currently posted in Assam.
